Our approach

Every child deserves the chance to thrive.

Our ethos is rooted in a simple belief — and an unwavering commitment to the young people who rely on us.

Warm, calm dining space inside a Calm Space home

At Calm Space, our ethos is rooted in the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive in a nurturing and supportive environment. As a small, owner-operated provider, we focus on providing long-term placements and unwavering commitment to the children in our care. We believe in building lasting relationships and never giving up on the young people who rely on us.

Our core values extend beyond the care we provide to the children; we also deeply value the well-being and development of our staff members and the quality of the homes in which they work. We understand that the foundation of exceptional care lies in the hands of compassionate, dedicated professionals who feel supported and appreciated.

To ensure the highest level of support, we employ an extensive team of specialists — including in-house maintenance staff and psychologists. This comprehensive approach allows us to address the diverse needs of our staff and the children in our care, fostering a well-rounded, supportive environment for all involved.

Our principles

Our ethos, in four commitments.

01

Unwavering commitment to children

Focusing on long-term placements and building strong, lasting relationships with the young people in our care.

02

Valuing and supporting our staff

Recognising the essential role our team plays, and supporting their well-being and growth so they can provide exceptional care.

03

Investing in quality homes

Creating safe, comfortable and welcoming spaces for both staff and children to feel genuinely at home.

04

A diverse team of specialists

Addressing the varied needs of our community, so everyone feels heard, understood and well cared for.

By adhering to these principles, we aim to create a positive and empowering atmosphere where children can overcome challenges, realise their full potential, and achieve their personal best.

Therapy

A therapeutic approach, woven into daily life.

Care doesn't happen in a single room or a weekly appointment - it happens in everyday moments. Our in-house psychologists work alongside the care team to make sure every interaction, routine and relationship is informed by an understanding of each young person's needs.

This joined-up, trauma-informed approach helps children feel safe enough to process their experiences, build trust, and move forward at their own pace.
